Storage and handling
This peptide ships as a lyophilised powder, which is the most stable form for transit and storage. Sealed vials tolerate ambient temperature in transit and are held at -20°C for long-term storage. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C and work to the stability data for that specific sequence, which varies considerably between compounds. Add diluent slowly against the vial wall rather than directly onto the powder, and swirl rather than shake.
Reconstitution notes
Bring the sealed vial to room temperature before opening it, so condensation does not form on the powder. Wipe the stopper with alcohol, draw the diluent slowly, and let it run down the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the cake. Swirl gently until the solution is clear; vigorous shaking introduces shear and foam that can damage a sequence.
Label the vial with the date and the volume of diluent used, and record the batch number in your notes at the same time. Work from one reconstituted vial at a time where you can, and keep the rest sealed and frozen until needed.
Certificate of Analysis
Each batch is quarantined on arrival and released only once HPLC purity and mass spectrometry identity results have been recorded against its batch number. The certificate states the compound, the batch number, the tested purity, the identity confirmation, the test date and the issuing laboratory.
