HMG, human menopausal gonadotropin or menotropin, is a purified gonadotropin preparation carrying follicle-stimulating and luteinising activity in roughly equal measure. Amino Club supplies it as a lyophilised 75 IU research preparation for in-vitro laboratory work.
About HMG
Unlike a single recombinant hormone, HMG is a preparation rather than one molecule. It is purified from human urinary gonadotropins and standardised by biological activity, conventionally around 75 IU of FSH activity with a comparable LH-like activity in the same vial. A measurable share of that LH-like activity is contributed by HCG present in the source material, which is part of why the preparation is characterised in international units rather than by mass.
For a laboratory, that composition is the point of interest. FSH acts on FSHR on granulosa and Sertoli cells, LH and HCG act on LHCGR on theca and Leydig cells, and HMG allows both arms to be stimulated together in the same culture. Comparing it against a pure recombinant FSH is the standard way to isolate what the LH-like component actually contributes.
What the research covers
Published in-vitro work with menotropin preparations concentrates on follicular cell culture: granulosa cell steroidogenesis and aromatase induction, cumulus-oocyte complex models, and FSHR signalling through cAMP. A second strand is comparative, setting urinary-derived mixed preparations against recombinant FSH with and without added LH activity, to separate the receptor contributions. A third is analytical, characterising batch-to-batch isoform and activity variation in biologically standardised preparations.

Handling HMG
Supplied lyophilised in a sealed vial and standardised by activity rather than mass, so the label figure is in international units. Store the sealed vial refrigerated or frozen, dry and out of light. Reconstituted gonadotropin solutions are best prepared in small volumes, kept cold, protected from agitation and not subjected to repeated freeze-thaw cycles, since activity rather than peptide content is what degrades first.

Certificates, delivery and terms
This batch ships with the Certificate of Analysis carrying the batch number printed on its label; how that is tested and released is set out on the lab testing page. Delivery, customs and returns are covered on the shipping page, common questions on the FAQ, and quantity pricing through bulk and wholesale. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only: not a medicine, not a supplement, not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing or administration guidance is provided — see the research use policy.
