Mechano growth factor: the peptide produced when muscle splices IGF-1 differently in response to mechanical load.
About MGF
MGF is the E-domain peptide of IGF-1Ec, a splice variant that skeletal muscle produces in response to mechanical stimulus. It is not a modified IGF-1 analogue — it is a distinct peptide arising from alternative splicing of the same gene, and the research interest is in that E-domain acting independently of the IGF-1 receptor.
That independence is the key point and the main open question. If the E-domain acts through its own target rather than through IGF-1R, it represents a separate signalling arm; the evidence is suggestive and incomplete.
What the research covers
Work covers satellite cell activation and proliferation, myoblast behaviour, and the response of the splice variant to mechanical loading in muscle models. Comparative designs against IGF-1 LR3 are the informative ones, because they test whether the E-domain does anything the receptor-mediated arm does not.
The practical limitation in the literature is the peptide’s very short half-life, which is also what motivated the pegylated form supplied as PEG-MGF. The growth hormone research peptides hub covers how this group splits between the two receptor families.

Handling MGF
Supplied lyophilised. The unmodified E-domain peptide is unstable in solution by nature — a short half-life is a property of the molecule, not a storage failure — so working solutions are prepared immediately before use and not held.
Reconstitute gently, keep cold, and expect that a solution held for any length of time is no longer the preparation the protocol specified.
Solvent options are under reconstitution supplies.

Certificates, delivery and terms
This batch ships with the Certificate of Analysis carrying the batch number printed on its label; how that is tested and released is set out on the lab testing page. Delivery, customs and returns are covered on the shipping page, common questions on the FAQ, and quantity pricing through bulk and wholesale. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only: not a medicine, not a supplement, not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing or administration guidance is provided — see the research use policy.
