A targeting sequence joined to a proapoptotic sequence — studied not for signalling but for removing the blood supply that adipose tissue depends on.
About Adipotide
Adipotide is a peptidomimetic with two functional halves: a sequence that binds prohibitin on the endothelium of adipose vasculature, and a proapoptotic sequence that disrupts mitochondrial membranes once internalised. The design is addressing rather than signalling — the targeting half decides where the payload acts.
That places it in a different category from the rest of the metabolic group. The incretins and amylin analogues modulate signalling; this one is studied for ablating a tissue’s vascular support.
What the research covers
Work covers prohibitin expression and distribution on adipose endothelium, selectivity of the targeting sequence, apoptosis in endothelial models, and the downstream consequence for adipose mass. Renal handling features prominently in the literature because it is where the dose-limiting observations in animal work appeared.
Selectivity is the whole question. A proapoptotic payload is only as safe as its address, so studies that do not characterise off-target binding are not assessing the thing that matters. The metabolic research peptides hub sets out how this group divides.

Handling Adipotide
Supplied lyophilised. This is a cytotoxic construct by design, and should be handled with the containment appropriate to one — a point that does not arise for the signalling peptides in the same category.
Standard reconstitution care applies, with the addition that waste and surplus solution need disposing of as cytotoxic material rather than as ordinary peptide waste.
Solvent options are under reconstitution supplies.

Certificates, delivery and terms
This batch ships with the Certificate of Analysis carrying the batch number printed on its label; how that is tested and released is set out on the lab testing page. Delivery, customs and returns are covered on the shipping page, common questions on the FAQ, and quantity pricing through bulk and wholesale. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only: not a medicine, not a supplement, not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing or administration guidance is provided — see the research use policy.
